Meet Alex Hulme, Demand Logic’s new Building Performance Analyst

Demand Logic has welcomed Alex Hulme as a new Building Performance Analyst. Through the company’s Building Analytics technology, he will provide Facilities Managers and Engineers with actionable insight to improve occupancy comfort and productivity, whilst helping them to reduce their energy usage and, in turn, carbon footprint.

Alex recently studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Exeter, writing his dissertation on the effects of extreme weather on occupancy comfort in residential buildings. He then started his career in technical solutions for a large electric motor manufacturing company, helping clients to deliver sustainable solutions in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning industry. Alex was drawn to Demand Logic due to its track record in reducing carbon emissions in the built environment as well as helping improve comfort for occupants in buildings, especially during frequent periods of extreme weather conditions.

By 2030, he believes there needs to be more international collaboration in implementing policies to reduce carbon emissions on a global scale, noting the Conference of Parties (COP) as a step in the right direction. However, he believes that in light of recent turn of events globally, it’s important for governments to emphasise encouraging others to maintain and build on their commitments.

Upon his appointment, Alex said:

“I am most excited by the prospect of seeing firsthand, the quantitative environmental impact of Demand Logic's actions on buildings that we walk past every day and being a part of a team that is authentically passionate about driving positive change.”

Demand Logic CEO Mike Darby said:

“Alex has the enthusiasm and drive to help us in our mission of improving the operational performance of buildings. We are delighted that he is joining us at a significant period of growth as we have welcomed several new additions to our team ahead of 2023. The future is looking bright and we’re looking forward to helping more teams in the built environment to unlock the power of their data within their properties.”

Recently, there has been a wave of new additions to the Demand Logic team, including Luke Christodoulou, Building Performance Analyst, Morten Bjornen-Jernside, Business Development Manager, Josie Newman, Junior Web Developer and Jon Wood, Senior IoT Developer.
