Kicking off the New Year, Demand Logic has been selected as one of the eight world-leading clean-tech companies to join Innovate UK’s Global Incubator Programme, supporting UK start-ups looking to enter the US market. In conjunction with Urban Future Lab (UFL) in New York, USA, the accelerator programme offers a founder-first culture, assisting the development of innovative technology companies in the Clean Growth sector. The UFL incubator has helped 63 companies to raise over $895m (£651m) of capital and has created more than 600 jobs.
As part of the programme, Demand Logic will gain access and introductions to US-based experts, customers and partners, with the opportunity to obtain country-specific mentoring from industry experts and advice on US business formation and scaleups. They will also receive support and services in New York, a city with ambitious goals to achieve green infrastructure in the near future. The programme takes place between January and June 2022 with continued support from the programme experts continuing beyond this.
Since the pandemic began, there has been exponential growth in the global green technology and sustainability market, which is set to grow from $11.43b (£8.38b) in 2021 to $41.62b (£30.54b) in 2028 according to a report by Fortune Business Insight.
Mike Darby, CEO of Demand Logic, said:
“The world is waking up to the need for sustainable solutions. The growth of the US market offers a real potential to fight climate change and it will play a key role in the nation’s economic recovery following the devastating impact of COVID-19. With the help from Innovate UK and Urban Future Lab, the Global Incubator Programme gives us a unique opportunity to present our green tech solution to global corporations and investors interested in climate innovation and provide actionable insight to help lower carbon emissions in properties.”
