Demand Logic Stars in Sustainability Matters Today Podcast

Using data to optimise buildings and reduce carbon emissions is in the Demand Logic DNA. So we were delighted to appear on the Sustainability Matters Today podcast with Daniel Hartz, which highlights current leaders and innovators. Mike Darby, our CEO and co-founder, was invited to appear on this must-listen podcast to chat about how our software is reducing energy waste in buildings.

This episode is essential listening for facilities managers, property developers and anyone interested in sustainability and innovation. Tune in to the podcast below to discover more about how Demand Logic’s technology is helping building managers reduce their energy bills by 10-30%.

The sustainable software solution

The Sustainability Matters Today Podcast highlights the ideas and innovations of Sustainability Champions, who are working to solve environmental challenges.

This episode delves into the environmental problem which provoked Mike and his fellow co-founders to become “reluctant entrepreneurs” and set up the company to solve the persistent waste issue in buildings.

The stark reality is that building management systems are often broken. Facilities managers become caught in a reactive trap of trying to solve faults on the fly without data-backed decisions. Mike cites one paradoxical case, where on a cold and stormy day in the UK, a building was both heating and cooling at the same time - throwing away the equivalent of the energy of over 1,000 homes. It is this kind of wasteful environmentally damaging situation that led to the creation and growth of Demand Logic.

Listen to the podcast to find out how our software can help facilities or property managers to identify in real-time what’s working and what’s not in their building. The software offers insights into heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, utility meters and internal environmental sensors for temperature, Co2, air quality, humidity and occupancy. This data can then be used to optimise the buildings, reducing emissions and saving money.

The podcast is not all about business. Mike also shares how he is playing his part in reducing carbon emissions, from fine-tuning his home heating system to reducing long-haul flights.
