On the 12th July 2018, Demand Logic triumphed at the Sustainable City Awards, being crowned one of three winners of the Sir Peter Parker prize - the top accolade given by the judges. The PropTech company was also hailed ‘clear winners’ of the Innovative Spaces award for their use of smart tech and climate change mitigation.
In 1975, Sir Peter Parker founded The Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards scheme. Until their recent merger with the Sustainable City Awards, the BCE Awards were the longest running environmental award scheme in the UK.
The Sir Peter Parker Award recognises businesses that have successfully set new standards of innovation, performance and environmental leadership.
Demand Logic shared the top spot with Blue Green Global and WSP, with judges stating ‘the decision to crown three winners demonstrates the fantastic efforts businesses are making to deliver sustainability.’
The Innovative Spaces Award celebrates businesses adapting innovative operations to reflect the impact on climate change. In addition, Demand Logic was a finalist in another two of the five categories at the prestigious awards, for their work in developing Smart Technology and Managing Resources.
The ceremony, which was held at The Siemens Crystal, London, and run by the London Sustainability Exchange (LSx), celebrates small, grassroots organisations on the same platform as global multi-nationals, by rewarding innovation and good practice leading to a smarter, healthier, and a more environmentally friendly world.
Demand Logic was recognised for their dedication in working towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future. This follows a win at the EG Tech Awards on Tuesday, where they scooped the Productivity Award for ‘best use of technology to improve productivity in buildings’ which shows how multi-faceted this innovative technology is for customers.
The judging panel for the Sir Peter Parker award were impressed with the innovative nature of Demand Logic's product, particularly the speed at which the system of generating a model of energy use (typically 24-28 hours). They recognised product’s visualisation techniques and social platform, allowing building users to engage in energy management in a way that has not previously been achieved. The judges also noted the impressive dedication of the team, with a winning combination of technical capability and engagement skills.

"Overall, Demand Logic’s application is a worthy recipient of the Sir Peter Parker Award, and we hope that this recognition provides further fuel to the products upwards trajectory.”

Demand Logic’s ‘Fitbit for buildings’ is used across more than 16 million square foot of property by customers including TfL, BT, Schroders, CBRE, JLL, Mace and MJ Mapp. The cleantech service offers building and facility managers access to detailed property performance information, proven to reduce maintenance times, cut energy costs by up to 30%, and reduce comfort complaints.
